Kshatriya (Sanscrit for “power”) — is a member of a varna of warriors and kings. This varna ranks second in the Hindu social order of the four varnas. In accordance with the Laws of Manu, Kshtriya should protect people, give alms, make a sacrifice, read the Vedas and avoid material pleasures.
