Holi

Holi – is an annual Hindu spring festival. The name of the festival is derived from the name of Holika, the sister of a demon Hiranyakashipu. They wanted to burn down the saint Prahlada, but in the end Holi herself got burnt down. In commemoration of a happy escape of Prahlada, Hindus build a fire. They also strew each other with powder and pour water. The festival takes place between the end of February and the beginning of May.
