Sadhu

Sadhu (Sanskrit for “good man”) — is a wandering ascetic, yogi. They dedicate their life to achieving the highest goal of human life, liberation (moksha). Nowadays there are about 4-5 million of sadhu in India. They live in forests and mountains, wander through towns of India and beg near the temples. Many sadhu possess the gift of healing or on the contrary can put an evil eye. Hindus respect sadhus and are somewhat afraid of them.
