Gandi, Mohandas Karamchand Mahatma

Gandi, Mohandas Karamchand Mahatma (1869-1948) – an ideological leader of Indian independence through nonviolence movement. He was against any violence and believed that the changes should be made by peaceful means. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” — Gandi used to say. In India Gandi is usually portrayed as a saint.
